XMOS adds Bosch, Huawei and Xilinx as strategic investors

XMOS Ltd. the fabless semiconductor company and a leading supplier of intelligent multicore microcontrollers, has announced the completion of a $26.2m Series-D investment round, adding Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH of Germany, Huawei Technologies, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider and Xilinx Inc. from the USA as strategic investors in the company.

These new investors join existing financial investors that include: Amadeus Capital Partners, DFJ Esprit, and Foundation Capital. XMOS will use the new funding to extend its market leadership in multicore technology for embedded applications by expanding customer support and accelerating new product development.

Investment activities of Robert Bosch Ventures Capital (the corporate venture company of the Bosch Group) focus on technology companies working in areas of business of current and future relevance for the Bosch Group.

Huawei is a leading global ICT solutions provider, its products and solutions have been deployed in over 170 countries, serving more than one third of the world’s population. XMOS will be partnering with Huawei on a number of potential projects that will help to expand the company’s technology.

The third strategic investor is Xilinx Technology Ventures, the investment arm of Silicon Valley based Xilinx, Inc. Xilinx is the world’s leading provider of All Programmable FPGAs, SoCs, and 3D ICs.
