Vector Software strengthens partnership with SYSGO AG

Vector Software, a leading provider of innovative software solutions for testing safety and mission critical embedded applications, has announced  that it has partnered with SYSGO AG to offer the VectorCAST software test tool in an integration with the latest version of microkernel based real-time operating system (RTOS) PikeOS 3.4.

Certified to the highest safety and security standards, this RTOS is used in safety-critical applications such as aircraft, rail, medical instruments, automotive and industrial automation to meet DO-178 B, ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 regulations. Likewise, Vector Software’s VectorCAST solution is deployed worldwide to test automotive, aerospace & defence, business critical, medical, industrial embedded software so that it meets the same rigorous safety-critical standards.

The PikeOS RTOS provides a partitioned environment for multiple operating systems with different design goals, safety requirements, or security requirements to coexist in a single machine, while offering IEC 61508, DO-178B, EN 50128, EN 50129 certification — plus it is the only RTOS to achieve a SIL4 certification for SMP usage on multi-core platforms. Known as one of the most trusted RTOS solutions currently deployed for safety-critical applications, SYSGO AG selected the VectorCAST embedded software test solution to integrate with because it enables developers to easily deploy a continuous integration and test environment, while testing directly on the partitioned operating system (OS).

The VectorCAST test tool suite for SYSGO provides a complete, full-featured integration with the PikeOS RTOS. This allows unit and integration test environments to be built using the same RTOS environment that is used in the deployed application, including support for running tests directly on the target OS.

“The integration of the VectorCAST test solution into the PikeOS 3.4 environment represents the continuation of a collaboration we’ve had for many years,” said Jacques Brygier, Director Partner Management, SYSGO AG. “Now, developers can use VectorCAST to test safety-critical applications using PikeOS 3.4, mixing different levels of criticality on the same platform.”
