Ultra-wide, Ultra-high Input Voltage, Isolated DC Converters for New Energy Applications

Global power conversion manufacturer MORNSUN is pleased to announce the launch of a new DC converter series that features an Ultra-wide, Ultra-high input voltage range for use in a wide range of new energy applications.

The single output PV200-27Bxx series provides an output of 200W and compliments the existing PV range from MORNSUN which features outputs of 5W, 10W, 15W and 40W. These converters feature an input range of 250 – 1000V DC and have a typical efficiency of 87% at 600V DC input. The input of these devices has inbuilt under voltage protection with inbuilt hysteresis to ensure efficient and reliable operation they also feature reverse input voltage protection and have input to output isolation of 4000 V AC minimum.

This range provides single outputs of 24V, 26V and 48V, they feature output voltage accuracy of typically ±2%, line regulation (full load) of ±0.5% and load regulation (0 – 100%) of ±2%. The output is fully protected with continuous, self-recovering (hiccup mode) short circuit protection, self-recovering over-current protection and over-voltage protection. They feature low noise characteristics with ripple and noise (20Mhz Bandwidth) of 200mV maximum. They feature a minimum load of 0%, may be trimmed over a range of ±10% maximum and feature a hold up time of 8mS (600V input) and 20mS (1000 input) at room temperature with full load.

These converters are designed to meet the latest safety and EMC requirements. They meet the safety requirements of EN62109 and the conducted and radiated emissions requirements of EN55032 class A. They also meet the electromagnetic susceptibility requirements of EN61000-4-2, -4-3, -4-4, -4-5 and -4-6.

These specialised converters are housed in a metal case with screw terminal connections and have a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, they are cooled by free air convection. The case dimensions are 168 x 121.35 x 42.5mm and the typical weight is 1000 grams. They provide high reliability with an MTBF of greater than 300K Hr’s to MIL-HDBK 217F at 25°C.

This series is specifically suited for use in new energy applications including photovoltaic power generation, stored energy and high voltage frequency conversion. The output can be readily paired with other MORNSUN DC converters to provide the multiple power rails that may be used in an application.
