TT Electronics receives award for customer support

TT Electronics has received an award from Dowty Propellers in recognition of the special support they provided following a fire at Dowty’s Gloucester, UK, site. At a supplier day event on 9th June, Dowty’s product executive, Oliver Towers, presented the Disaster Recovery Award to Dave Jackson, quality assurance manager of TT Electronics Fairford, UK. The award was ‘for outstanding support of Dowty Propellers in disaster recovery during the last 12 months’.

During February 2015 there was a catastrophic fire at Dowty Propellers’ Gloucester site. Thankfully there were no injuries, however as well as damage to the buildings, a considerable amount stock and work in progress was lost. A huge re-building process was undertaken and the facility re-opened in October 2015, such was the commitment from Dowty’s parent company GE to maintain the capability that the facility offers.

Says Dave Jackson, of TT Electronics, “GE recognised that through this difficult period the support of their supply chain was key to continuing to meet their customers’ needs and as such held a suppliers day, inviting 15 key suppliers who all received an award for their service and support during this time. TT Electronics is very proud to have been invited to receive this award in recognition of our commitment to customer support especially at such difficult and challenging times.

“Dowty is now entering a program to increase production to satisfy the backlog of orders as a result of the fire and as a key supplier of cables. TT Electronics will of course be ready and able to meet this demand.”
