Truly Semiconductor, a major global manufacturer of TFT and AMOLED displays, has strengthened its presence in the UK by appointing andersDX as a direct sales representative. The announcement gives the UK’s largest OEMs access to Truly’s 1 million sq. mt. of display manufacturing capacity through expert local support.
Enrique Crespo Araico, business development manager of Truly Semiconductor said: “Truly is the display supplier of choice for some of the world’s largest OEMS, and we are already strong in the UK market. This new agreement means that andersDX will be Truly in the UK. andersDX has been the Truly distributor in the UK since 2010, and we have developed a close and very strong working relationship. We are now taking this relationship to another level, and will be working together to address the needs of the highest volume display users in the UK directly.”
Paul Mullen, general manager of andersDX added: “Truly offers the industrial market an outstanding proposition. They have a strong commitment to maintaining availability of the display technologies popular in the industrial market in the long term, including TFT. At the same time, they are investing in new display technologies like AMOLED, and bringing them to market in volumes that are economic for industrial display users. These lines are additional to, and not instead of, industrial TFT production capacity, giving customers confidence in their long term commitment to the technology. We are excited that our relationship with them is moving to a new level allowing us to engage with a wider base of customers.”
As Truly’s UK representative, andersDX will be empowered to initiate and support direct trading relationships for Truly with UK customers. It will offer customers the benefit of local technical, commercial and logistical support throughout the life of the project. andersDX engage customers at the design stage, and its involvement will continue through prototype and all stages of volume production.
Truly Semiconductor has an 850,000 sq. mt. facility devoted to TFT panel manufacture in Shanwei, China. In addition, Truly recently announced the opening of a new 4.5G display production line, which supports the manufacture of both Active Matrix OLED (AMOLED) and TFT production.
