Southern Manufacturing 2019 expands in size and scope

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics, the UK’s largest annual engineering show, returns to Farnborough from February 5th to 7th 2019. The move to a new permanent venue last year proved a resounding success with both visitors and exhibitors, prompting a surge in stand bookings for the 2019 show. The organisers are forecasting a 20 per cent increase in exhibitors for 2019, which will bring the show to its maximum capacity.

Along with a record number of exhibitors expected, the show has formalised links with several influential industry organisations, including Composites UK, the Confederation of British Metalforming, Farnborough Aerospace Consortium, The British Gear Association, Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and the Gauge and Toolmakers Association. The partnerships will enable the roll-out of new show features and access to authoritative technical expertise via the show’s comprehensive free technical seminar programme, open to all visitors. Some of the new areas to be addressed as part of the 2019 programme include a look at incremental sheet forming processes, automated mould design and large scale 3D printing.

Visitors to Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2019 will recognise many regular exhibitors, among them Bystronic UK, C. Dugard, Matsuura and YMT Technologies, plus some notable returnees to the show. Citizen Machinery UK will exhibit for the first time since 2007, joined by other major former exhibitors such as Mitutoyo (UK), SCHMIDT Technology, Rapid Electronics and LNS Turbo amongst others. New exhibitors for 2019 include Instrutec Controls, Oemeta UK and Polydist UK. The 2019 event has also seen a remarkable 26 per cent increase in non UK-based exhibitors, giving visitors the chance to meet a truly international selection of suppliers.

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2019 opens from February 5th to 7th. Admission to the show is free.
