Seica and Mentor announce a new release of their integrated test programming solution for high-mix PCB manufacturing

Seica, a leading supplier of automated test equipment for the electronics manufacturing industry, and Mentor (A Siemens Business), a leading provider of EDA software solutions has announced the availability of a new release of their jointly-developed Test Programming solution.

The new release offers advanced Design-for-Test (DFT) capabilities to ensure right-first-time electrical test of PCBs as well as accelerated test programming. Customers using the Seica PILOT family of Flying Probe Testers can now enjoy the industry-leading test flow offered by the integrated solution.

“Our new integrated solution offers a breakthrough in test engineering addressing the rising complexity and density of printed circuit boards that our customers manufacture, said Antonio Grassino, president of Seica Spa. “With this new release we are able to import product data either in its original CAD form or in the form of machine programs and convert into optimised PILOT test programs in a matter of seconds even for highly complex boards with over 25,000 components”.

“Our joint solution leverages best-in-class technology from both Seica and Mentor to left-shift testability analysis and accelerate new product introduction,” said Dan Hoz, general manager of the Valor Division at Mentor. “This is another fine example of how the use of digitalisation enables smart manufacturing of electronics.”
