RS Components to share insights on the future of engineering at EDS 2017

RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc, the global distributor for engineers, will be sharing insights on the challenges holding back next-generation applications and the solutions aiming to address them at the Engineering Design Show (EDS), taking place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on 18-19 October.

RS will be exhibiting on stand F9 at EDS – the UK’s must-attend event for engineering, electronics and embedded design. Technical marketing manager Simon Duggleby, electronics product manager Simon Lummis and head technology evangelist Pete Wood will be on hand to discuss physical technology, security and the need to educate engineers.

Some of the highlights from RS at the show will include bespoke presentations:

  • ‘Solving three challenges holding back next-generation applications’, by Simon Duggleby
  • ‘Supporting engineers in the digital generation’, by Pete Wood
  • ‘Are you ready for a connected future?’, by Intel on behalf of RS

RS is among 220 industry exhibitors at the show, and will be offering expert opinion on the debate around advancing engineering techniques and the growing trend of mechatronics designs. Electrical and mechanical engineers, and OEMs can learn more about how mechatronics-based designs can add to engineering productivity by bringing together power, electronics and mechanical systems.

Simon Duggleby added: “As a business that has been supporting engineers for the past 80 years, we’ve evolved from a paper catalogue company to one that is committed to the digital generation and globalised marketplace, so we’re a real partner to the engineering community. We look forward to engaging with this community at the show and in our workshops.”
