RS Components partners with key suppliers to light the way on latest LED trends at technology workshops

RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents, the global distributor for engineers, is partnering with its key suppliers OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, Microchip Technology. Intelligent LED (ILS) and TE Connectivity to deliver two LED Light Experience & Control workshops, taking place in Manchester and Reading during April 2015.

The workshops offer participants the opportunity to update their LED knowledge in what has become a rapidly progressing technology area. Designers, architects and engineers in fields including automation, film, industrial, medical and transportation, who are customers of RS, will be able to learn about topics including LED efficiency, colour consistency and control. Experts will also be available on the day to answer any individual questions.

RS has donated Raspberry Pi B+ credit-card-sized single board computers to be used in giveaway kits to participants on the day that will also include RGB touch dimmers and reflectors, to name a few, that have been donated by the other suppliers.

Simon Duggleby, semiconductor category marketing manager at RS, said: “We are really pleased to be able to support this initiative. The workshops offer visitors a fantastic opportunity to brush up on the latest trends, innovations and systems for intelligent LED based solutions in this exciting area of semiconductor technology.”

The full day workshops take place on Tuesday 14th April at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), Manchester, and Thursday 16th April at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Reading.
