Pyreos, a manufacturer of miniature, rugged, pyroelectric, mid-infrared sensors and detectors which respond faster and minimise power consumption, today announced the appointment of Keith Pruden as VP of sales. Keith will lead the company’s ambitious commercial growth plans and drive the broadening of the company’s distribution network. His arrival coincides with the launch of new detector products for anaesthesia, food analysis and refrigerants and the launch of a new web site with significantly enhanced developer support.
Pruden’s career in technology spans 25 years developing and establishing successful sales, customer support and marketing organisations in the semiconductor industry, starting out originally as a development engineer.
Since moving into sales management, he has run regional and global sales, applications engineering and customer support teams over lengthy periods at PMC-Sierra, Agere, VLSI and Nujira. Most recently he spent seven years at PMC-Sierra Inc as vice president of sales responsible for EMEA, Russia and India.
“I’ve always been involved in customer-focused roles within pioneering technology environments and I remain curious and passionate about the evolving trends that drive the adoption of new technology,” said Pruden. “The market for passive infra-red sensors is reported as growing at 12 per cent CAGR and Pyreos has the right combination of expertise in gas, fire, food safety and fuel and oil analysis as well as powerful collaborations with leading technology giants to take advantage of that opportunity. I look forward to realising a period of ambitious growth for the company with new, extended product lines for a broad scope of applications.
Andrew Wallace, CEO, said: “This is an exciting time for Pyreos and we are extremely pleased that Keith has joined us. His semiconductor skills will be a real asset as we are seeing a steady growth in design opportunities for pyroelectric sensors in high volume products across several industries.”
