Plessey shortlisted as a finalist in the Lux Awards 2016

Plessey announced today that it has been shortlisted in the 2016 Lux Awards. The Lux Awards celebrate and reward creativity and sustainability in lighting. Plessey, a UK-based LED manufacturer, has been shortlisted in two categories, Manufacturer of the Year and Enabling Technology of the Year, for its new Orion beam forming module.

Plessey will be showcasing the first standardised product using its Stellar Optic Technology at this year’s LuxLive event. The Orion is an innovative slim line module to be used in directional light. It will remove many of the restraints typically found in COB type modules, and will bring opportunities, quality of light and freedom of design that will revolutionise the market’s expectation for directional light.

Winners of the Lux Awards will be announced at the award ceremony taking place on Thursday 24th November 2016 at The InterContinental London – The O2. The awards will follow on from the most prestigious event in the UK’s lighting calendar and Europe’s biggest annual lighting event, LuxLive. Plessey will be exhibiting for its third year running and will demonstrate a number of lighting solutions designed around its award-winning MaGIC LED technology for the solid state lighting market.

Neil Harper, product marketing director at Plessey, commented: “We are delighted to be shortlisted in two categories for such prestigious awards. Plessey is dedicated to using the best of British research, manufacturing and engineering to create disruptive andinnovative technologies to bring a positive influence to the interaction we all have with technology. Plessey demonstrates true innovation through its disruptive GaN-on-Si technology. We are not following traditional trends, we are transforming the way in which LEDs are used in the lighting market rather than mirroring what others have done before. Our LED products will change the way people will experience lighting in the future.”

Plessey will be exhibiting at LuxLive on the 23rd-24th November and will hold product demonstrations presented by technical and design experts at stand M8, providing an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of its latest products and solutions for the commercial, industrial, consumer and wearable lighting segments. LuxLive will open on Wednesday 23rd November from 9am to 9pm and on Thursday 24th November from 9am to 5pm. The show is free to attend with tickets available through the event homepage: http://luxlive.co.uk/
