Phihong expands thin/small adapters to include 10W adapter

The power supply is also available in a second variation, designated the PSA10F-050Q(D), which has a compensate circuit that increases the voltage as the current increases to offset wire drops in USB cables.

“Personal applications are becoming more reliant on larger capacity batteries to support high-definition touch screens and multiple processors requiring more power over a USB cable,” said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA. “Now that USB is the pervasive standard for charging batteries on mobile electronics, OEMs are demanding more options for customizing their projects for worldwide distribution.”

Though designed as a fixed wall plug for North America, the F-Series is available with optional field-interchangeable AC Clips to enable the adapter to operate for worldwide AC mains outlets in Brazil, China, Continental Europe, Korea, India, United Kingdom, Argentina and Australia/New Zealand.

The PSA10F meets requirements for Level V marking, allowing it approval for CE in addition to C-Tick, SAA and cUL/UL safety agency markings. Standard features include current-limit protection, over-voltage protection, short-circuit protection and over-temperature protection and the adapter is equipped with a no-load power draw of 0.015W, giving it a 5-Star standby rating.

Each unit measures 60mm by 47mm by 15mm, weighs just 38.5g and may be operated from 0°C to 40°C.
