PFM DC/DC converter from APEC looks to save space and cost

Advanced Power Electronics Corp. (USA), a manufacturer of MOS power semiconductors and ICs for DC-DC power conversion applications, has unveiled the APE1910-HF-3, a new Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) DC/DC converter with a low quiescent current of around 30µA and shutdown current less than 1uA.

Available in a small RoHS/REACH-compliant halogen-free SOT-23-5 package, the APE1910-HF-3 features a wide input voltage range from 1.2V to 12V and features a switching current limit (typ) of 350mA, and a high output voltage of up to 34V. Using a PFM design the product provides high efficiency across a broad range of load.

According to Ralph Waggitt, President/CEO, Advanced Power Electronics Corp, “With a small package size and requiring only a small number of external components, the APE1910-HF-3 offers a low cost and space saving solution for step-up voltage conversion.”
