Northern Manufacturing & Electronics expands

Northern Manufacturing & Electronics, the North’s top industrial technology and electronics event, returns to EventCity, Manchester from September 30th to October 1st 2015. This year”s show is approaching a sell-out, with over 250 firms expected to take part. Along with more exhibitors, the show presents a new feature, RoadRailAir, highlighting the region”s key position in the UK’s automotive, public transport and aerospace manufacturing sectors.

Northern Manufacturing & Electronics brings together a broad cross-section of the UK Electronics industry, together with a wide selection of associated products and services from general industry, such as sheet metal, consumables and production equipment. This breadth gives the event an unparalleled appeal and guarantees visitors an absorbing and worthwhile visit. The range of solutions on show allows buyers, design engineers and specifiers to address numerous sourcing issues in a single visit. Companies taking part range from major international manufacturers to regional specialists.

Components are a key part of the show – attracting over 40% of visitors last year – but are just one aspect of an event that delivers a lot more than that.  Just about everything related to design, production and test is represented in a single venue, including enclosures, test equipment, optical inspection, hand tools, storage, picking and insertion systems and a lot more. Technology trails lead attendees around the show, allowing them to make the most effective use of time at the show. Subcontract services highlighted include 3D printing, design, electronics assembly, sub-contract manufacturing and PCB productions.

Business services are also widely available at Northern 2015. STEGTA, the training and apprenticeships facilitator will be in attendance to talk about all apprenticeship and training needs. Trade bodies, such as the North West Aerospace Alliance will be available to give advice on subjects including funding and project delivery support. Finance support companies covering matters such as Asset Finance and Tax will be available and numerous other experts in sectors such as barcode solutions, waste management, electronic design and manufacturing software will be at your disposal to talk about their products and services. Moreover, business support services such as graphic design, patent & trademark advice and printers are also in attendance. Companies delivering industrial cleaning, industrial consumables, machine services, stock control products and  consumables are some of the many solutions on show from the works management and maintenance category.

The show also offers a two-day free seminar programme in which world-class presenters explain the current concepts in manufacturing, engineering and industrial management. Of particular interest is a keynote presentation by Dr. David Bailey, CEO of the North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA), entitled Technology Opportunities and Challenges in the Aerospace Supply Chain. The aerospace industry in the region generates over £7bn annually and the NWAA is its principle organisation. Other sessions cover additive manufacturing, CE marking legislation, Lean, new product development and protection of intellectual copyright.
