New wide frequency range VCO series from IQD

IQD Frequency Products is launching a new series of high performance customisable Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) that provide a comprehensive solution for a wide range of applications such as test and measurement, SATCOM, Telecom, and digital mobile radio. The new IVCO-100 series offers frequencies from 50MHz up to 6GHz.

By virtue of the internal oscillator design, all variants are able to offer excellent phase noise at the 10KHz and 100KHz frequency offsets and deliver highly linear frequency tuning with immunity to voltage supply and output load variations. Housed in a surface mountable 12.7 x 12.7 x 4.0mm industry standard package, all models in the series operate over the standard industrial temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees C. Output is typically 5.0dBm into 50 Ohms.

The IVCO-100 is designed using a high-Q low loss coaxial resonator to satisfy applications requiring an ultra-stable Local Oscillator (LO) source where a narrow band design is the ideal choice. This variant delivers the best combination of phase noise performance, harmonic suppression and high immunity to load pulling and voltage pushing from 665 to 685MHz.

Where low phase noise and moderate bandwidth define the performance criteria, the IVCO-110, IVCO-120 and IVCO-130 models satisfy different performance areas. The IVCO-110 model is optimized for performance from 825MHz to 930MHz whilst the IVCO-120 offers -90dBc/Hz phase noise at a 10KHz offset from 4400 to 4800MHz. The IVCO-130 pushes the current design limits to 6GHz with a typical phase noise of -90dBc/Hz at 10KHz offset across an operating band of 5500 to 5815MHz.

These new VCOs are suitable for use in a wide range of transmitters and receivers, RF repeaters, cellular base stations, SATCOM applications, Radar, Radio and WiMax in addition to test and measurement synthesizers.
