New fit-PC3i miniature fanless PC targets signage, surveillance and telecommunications applications

Tiny Green PC has launched the fit-PC3i; based on the tiny, robust, fanless, ultra-low-energy fit-PC3 compact computer, it offers an enhanced graphics performance and connectivity to digital signage, surveillance and telecommunications applications. The fit-PC3i offers all the features of the fit-PC3, enhanced with an on board SIM socket, integrated fit-Headless HDMI plug, dual GbE networking and CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) support for the dual HDMI graphics channels.

A SIM card and optional MiniPCIe cellular modem module allow mobile applications to communicate over cellular networks including 2G-GPRS-EDGE, 3G-HSPA and 4G-LTE. The dual GbE network ports allow redundant networks to be set up for more reliable and resilient communications links.

The fit-PC3i offers an integrated fit-Headless plug for remote high resolution displays that can be set up easily. For digital signage and surveillance, the CEC capability over the HDMI channels allows users to operate multiple screens from one controller.

The fit-PC3i products are built around AMD’s Embedded G-Series Fusion 64-bit APUs with up to 16GB of DDR3-1333 memory, while Radeon HD processors provide outstanding graphics capabilities. A bay for a 2.5” SATA hard disk satisfies internal storage requirements. The front-mounted FACE module can be used for extended custom functionality or I/O options. Units can be supplied diskless or with Microsoft Windows 7 or Linux OS.

Graphics needs are covered by dual HDMI 1.4a display channels with CEC. Audio features include a Realtek HD audio codec, digital 7.1 S/PDIF, stereo line-in and stereo line-out channels. Comprehensive ‘out of the box’ I/O on all models includes: Dual Gigabit Ethernet; internal SIM socket; Bluetooth; four USB 2.0 ports and two internal mini PCIe sockets. MultiLAN versions of the Fit-PC3i also include 802.11b/g/n WiFi.

“The fit-PC3 range of tough, green, ultra-miniature PCs has been chosen for many different industrial applications over recent years,” says Viru Patel, Sales Manager at Tiny Green PC. “Now, the new fit-PC3i offers particular opportunities to signage, surveillance and telecommunications systems builders with its high graphics performance, rich I/O and extremely low power consumption.”
