Micrel selects AEL to distribute clock and timing products

Micrel, a manufacturer of IC solutions for high-performance analogue and high-speed mixed signal, LAN and timing and communications markets, has appointed AEL, the global supplier of frequency control components to distribute its clock and timing products.

The combination of AEL Crystals’ understanding of MEMs technology, combined with its presence in the frequency control market, in which it has been operating in Europe since 1991, and its established customer base, will allow it to introduce Micrel’s technology to a wide range of markets.

The product range encompasses not only MEMs oscillators but also clock generation products, including ClockWorks and Precision Edge clock and data distribution families.

The ClockWorks family consists of ultra-low phase jitter (sub-100fs) clock generators aimed at wireless and wireline communication applications. The Precision Edge family includes clock and data distribution solutions with features like internal termination, crosstalk noise isolation, and lowest jitter, designed to decrease design efforts and to keep signal integrity intact.

Since its acquisition of MEMS company, Discera, in August 2013, Micrel not only added stability to the MEMS supply chain but has also invested substantially to improve production yields, reduce lead-times, and develop leading edge MEMs products for many applications in worldwide market sector.

AEL Crystals offer globally competitive pricing and logistic solutions to support all levels of customer wherever production is located. To contact them, email sales@aelcrystals.co.uk.
