Lynx Software Technologies UK, (formerly LynuxWorks) will be focusing on security technologies for protecting IoT Gateways and Secure RTOS technology with demonstrations and conference papers at Embedded World, Nuremberg.
According to Lee Cresswell, sales director, EMEA, Lynx Software Technologies, “A secure platform foundation is an essential element of the industrial IoT to ensure that the critical infrastructure of the future is adequately protected. Security is paramount for the next generation of connected embedded systems.”
This thinking will be showcased in two demonstrations featured on the Lynx stand (4-446) at Embedded World. The first shows how the LynxSecure Separation Kernel Hypervisor and the Vortex Intelligent Data Sharing Platform from PrismTech can route real-time data from a sensor node securely and reliably via a gateway to the cloud. The second shows how LynxOS 7 can help engineers design multi-layer security into their embedded applications using features like discretionary access controls, audit, roles and capabilities, identification and authentication and cryptography. LynxOS 7 utilises an industry standard Eclipse based IDE called Luminosity for ease in development of secure embedded applications.
The same themes will be echoed in two technical papers being presented by Lynx Software at the conference. Mark Pitchford, technical manager with Lynx Software Technologies will look at the issue of “Demonstrating safety process standard compliance for your RTOS of choice.” This paper will be presented on Tuesday, February 24th at 11:30am. At 4pm on the same day, Will Keegan, technical director, Software Security will look at the issues involved in “Architecting and developing an industrial IoT gateway for safety and security.” In this paper he will explore the likely threats to which M2M gateways will be exposed, the principles to securing them and the role of virtualisation in these architectures.
