Luso introduces SynQor high voltage military spec digital bus converters and Buck/Boost regulators

Luso Electronics has announced the availability of SynQor’s latest range of high input voltage, high power DC-DC Bus Converters and Buck/Boost Regulators that utilize the company’s high-density Intermediate Bus Architecture (IBA) and comply with requirements for use in military and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) power applications.

SynQor unveils two high voltage unregulated DC-DC Bus Converters – the MCOTS-B-270-31-HT and MCOTS-B-600-31-HT – which are ideal for creating the mid-bus voltage required to drive standard point-of-load (non-isolated) DC-DC isolated converters.

Both the DC-DC Bus Converters and Buck/Boost Regulators are certified to military standards MIL-STD-704 and MIL-STD-1275 and tested to reliably operate from -55 to +100°C baseplate temperature. Capable of independent or combined use to provide high-density power solutions, assisting with SWaP-C2 requirements, each Bus Converter is housed in a Half Brick encased package (60.6 x 63.14 x 13.0mm) with industry standard pin out.

SynQor’s Bus Converters provide a class-leading efficiency of over 95% at full and half load operation with up to 1000W of power. The 270Vin converter features a continuous input voltage range of 230-400Vdc with transient capabilities from 155-450Vdc and the 600Vin model features a continuous input voltage range of 440-700Vdc with transient capabilities from 400-750Vdc.

The isolated Bus Converters provide an unregulated output that over the operating range of the converter the output voltages stay within the range of 16Vdc to 50Vdc for the 270V product and 22Vdc to 40Vdc for the 600V product.  Both output ranges remains within a standard military 28 Vdc (16-50V max) input voltage range. Each comes with On/Off control, inherent current share for parallel applications, and clock synchronization. Furthermore, they have input under-voltage lockout and input over-voltage shutdown that protects against abnormal input voltages, output current limit, short circuit protection, and over-temperature protection.

Luso also stocks two new SynQor high voltage buck/boost non-isolated DC-DC Converters – the MCOTS-N-28V-60-HG and MCOTS-N-28VE-90-HG. These converters feature an input of 9-60 or 9-90Vdc and a user programmable output from 0-60 or 0-90Vdc and maximum output power for a single unit is up to 2000W at up to 97% efficiency. They provide tight regulation and come equipped with internal current share, current monitoring, current trim and current limit. Additionally, they do not require a minimum load to operate.

This Intermediate Bus Architecture solution with nominal 270Vdc or 600Vdc input and a simple user adjustable output voltage is an excellent solution for meeting today’s demands for higher power military use. This combined Bus Converter to Regulator solution provides near 1000W of isolated/regulated, usable power, in the space of two Half Brick packages.  Furthermore, multiple regulators could be used for multiple voltage rails operating off a single or multiple bus converters for maximum power and solution flexibility.
