L2Tek sells ultra-low light camera board solution with liquid lens optimised for face detection, in-car security and surveillance

L2Tek, a manufacturers’ representative and distributor of components and sub-assemblies for professional video and high-speed communications systems, is selling the SeeCam_30, a two-board ready-to-manufacture ultra-low light camera solution developed by e-con Systems using a AR0330 CMOS image sensor from ON Semiconductor and USB 3.1 type C Gen 1 interface connector. The SeeCam_30 is optimised for evening and daylight use in surveillance, face detection, in-car security and near-infrared (NIR) imaging applications.

With a 3.4 MP autofocus USB Video Class (UVC) compliant camera with Varioptic’s liquid lens, the See3CAM_30 is a colour camera with S-mount lens holder can run simply by using a generic camera software driver rather than requiring a specific driver to be installed in the host PC (supporting Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems). Standard UVC support is available for control of brightness, contrast, sharpness, saturation control, gamma control, gain, exposure, white balance and digital zoom.

The See3CAM_30 colour liquid lens consumes less power compared to traditional VCM based auto focus solutions and this reduces the need to manage extra heat during operation. There is no mechanical movement like in a VCM motor for autofocus so the life of the lens increases.
