Knowles Capacitors takes a bow

With a combined history exceeding 175 years, Dielectric Laboratories (DLI), Novacap, Syfer Technology and Voltronics have come together to form a single organisation, Knowles Capacitors. This new entity is a division of Knowles Corporation of USA, an independent publicly traded company, and its head office will be in Norwich, UK, and headed up by Howard Ingleson the previous MD of Syfer Technology.

The R & D facility for Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors and EMI Filters will be retained at the Norwich location as well as other existing sites in the USA. Manufacturing will take place at various locations, notably volume MLCC’s at the Knowles facility at Suzhou, a city located in the southeast of Jiangsu Province in Eastern China.

Knowles Capacitors, by virtue of its founding brands, will be a global source for Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors, Single Layer Capacitors, EMI suppression filters, Trimmer Capacitors and Thin Film Devices. Together the company will serve a variety of markets including military, aerospace/avionics, medical equipment, implantable devices, EMI and connector filtering, oil exploration, instrumentation, industrial electronics, automotive, telecoms and data networks.

The Knowles Corporation is a recent spin-off from The Dover Corporation, a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 manufacturer of specialised industrial products and equipment. Also within the portfolio is Knowles Inc., the original company of 65 years standing in the manufacture of microphones, speakers and receivers for the mobile consumer electronics industry and acoustics & hearing health sector.

Sister company Sound Solutions, also in the same sector, is in the line-up along with Vectron International a world leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of Frequency Control, Sensor, and Hybrid Product solutions.
