Keysight Technologies to use LoRa Technology in its LoRa-based test solutions

Keysight Technologies, Inc. has announced that it will use Semtech Corporation’s LoRa devices and wireless RF technology (LoRa Technology) in the development of Internet of Things (IoT) test solutions.

Semtech’s LoRa Technology is one of the leading low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) technologies and is used in the building of IoT networks. LoRa Technology is designed for sensors and applications that need to send a small amount of data over long distances a few times per hour from varying environments, such as climate change, pollution control, and early warning of natural disasters. The platform is easy to add into a company’s existing infrastructure and the technology offers a solution to serve battery-operated IoT applications. Semtech builds LoRa Technology into its chipsets. These chipsets are then built into the products offered by their IoT partners and integrated into LPWANs, which send the data to application servers via backhaul technologies such as cellular, Ethernet, satellite or Wi-Fi.

Keysight will use the technical data from Semtech’s LoRa Technology to develop highly flexible test solutions for use in design validation and verification of IoT applications. Keysight will provide dedicated signal generation and analysis tools for LoRa-based devices in the X-Series signal analysers and signal generatorsE6640A EXM wireless test set, as well as its 89600 VSA software.
