IOTEAM introduces IoT module based on Linear Technology’s SmartMesh IP

Italian company IOTEAM S.r.l. announces the release of Dusty PCB-Ant and Dusty Ant-Conn, the world’s first wireless mesh Internet of Things (IoT) modules with integrated PCB antenna or connector antenna that utilises SmartMesh IP from Linear Technology Corporation.

On show at electronica at Linear Technology’s booth 524, Hall A4 will be the Dusty modules and a number of innovative boards derived from them. The Dusty modules are smaller than any other similar module currently in the market. They have an integrated connector antenna or a PCB antenna, making it possible to integrate them into very small devices and objects. The Dusty modules enable fast and inexpensive prototyping and production as they integrate a PCB antenna, eliminating the need for a connector and they are ECC and FC certified.

“Integrating the antenna into a very small module with SmartMesh IP wireless sensor network from Linear Technology makes IoT solutions easy to prototype and enables them for very compact environments at a competitive price,” says Claudio Pino, CEO of IOTEAM.

On display will also be Dusty EVK, an Arduino MKR1000 form factor board which also includes the DUSTY modules as another key solution for easy and fast prototyping. Arduino IDE compatible and powered by USB or battery, the board will especially be useful for both the Makers’ community, as an Arduino compatible board, and the R&D teams of larger entities.

As part of the extended offering, Dusty solution Dongle, compatible with all ARM IOTEAM boards, available for easy development on will also be presented.

The Dusty modules will be available both as an indoor solution, using a SmartMesh IP – Wi-Fi gateway, that can be used within factories’ and buildings’ IoT systems, and as an outdoor solution, with SmartMesh IP gateways that can be connected to other technologies, that can be used, for instance, in nautical, agricultural or camping IoT applications. All of these Gateways will be fully integrated in the Arduino ecosystem and compatible with the Arduino IDE like the Dusty EVK Unit.  These modules can be used when there is the need to extend the SmartMesh IP meshed network characteristics alongside other IoT communication protocols.
