HTH270 and HTM270 DC-DC converters for down-hole tools cut design time and cost

International Rectifier has introduced the HTH27022S and HTM27092S, isolated hybrid hermetic DC-DC converters for high temperature and high shock environments such as oil drilling applications and mud turbine generators.

Featuring an operating case temperature of 165ºC with transient up to 175ºC and with a high nominal input voltage of 270V, the HTH27022S and HTM27092S are commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) converters that can significantly reduce design cycle time, size and design costs associated with high temperature applications.

Hermetic, hybrid packaging is an attractive feature because it provides high reliability in demanding applications such as oil drilling applications as well as small size and light weight, thus enabling designers to speed up the design cycle while reducing system size, weight and cost.

The HTH27022S and HTM27092S products feature internal EMI filter, magnetically coupled current feedback, under-voltage lockout, output over-voltage limiter, external inhibit and short circuit and overload protection.

Additional features include small size, low weight and high tolerance to environmental stresses such as wide temperature extremes and severe shock and vibration. Electrical and environmental qualification reports are available and production orders are available immediately.
