HiWave’s VSE3 speaker housing gives big speaker quality in small form factor design

HiWave Technologies, a developer of innovative audio amplifier ICs, full frequency range speaker drivers and next generation haptic touch devices, has unveiled the VSE3, a speaker housing design that enables audio OEMs to deliver big sounds from small balanced-mode radiator (BMR) speakers.

The VSE3 speaker housing design has been created to give the optimal performance from HiWave’s BMR65 4 O and 8O audio drive units, enabling a wide distribution, large frequency range, rich bass and exceptional detail from the small housing.

The dice-styled housing simplifies and speeds the design process of home theatre and computer speakers that deliver exceptional sound quality; including USB powered and battery powered wireless systems.

The VSE3 has a CD case sized footprint and measures just 120x120x120mm. Demonstrator units, for prototyping audio equipment, are available to OEMs, priced at $350 per pair.

HiWave’s HiBM65C20F-8 and HiBM65C20F-4 BMRs have an extended frequency response and wide directivity compared with conventional drive units. They combine the benefits of HiWave’s bending-wave technology and pistonic modes of operation and are ideally suited for compact audio applications that require a full-range, high performance acoustic solution.
