HiWave reveals new ownership and structure to drive business growth

HiWave Technologies (UK) Ltd is now under new ownership after HiWave Technologies plc entered into administration earlier this year. The company (including the Hong Kong subsidiary) has been acquired by an organisation providing technology funding and which is headquartered in London. HiWave Technologies (UK) Ltd., headed by Caroline O”Brien, previously Chief Commercial Officer of HiWave Technologies plc, will develop and market stand-alone audio products including balanced mode radiator (BMR) loudspeakers and audio amplifier chips and modules.

The haptics business, previously part of the public company”s offering and including transducers that drive audio into flat surfaces to eliminate the need for separate loudspeakers, is to be managed as a separate new enterprise.

HiWave is currently located near Cambridge, UK, from where it expects to work closely with customers using a development framework to create customised sound solutions.

“The ethos of HiWave audio is that we are a high growth, customer-focused technology business. We will continue to direct our energy at closing customer deals, developing the consumer audio market and creating world-leading solutions. As a private enterprise, we are able to focus our efforts on commercialisation of BMR and Audium amplifier solutions. In line with this philosophy we are preparing to announce two exciting new products in the next quarter,” said Caroline O”Brien, CEO of HiWave.
