Harwin adds extra-small bore Datamate connector range

This new contact enables designers to use wire which is less bulky and lighter in weight, allowing designers to achieve a closer packing density of components or a reduce in equipment size. For aerospace and portable applications the reduction in weight is very significant. The new contact is gold plated to ensure good conductivity and has a current rating of 3.3A in isolation and 3A on all contacts simultaneously. Contact resistance 25mΩ (max), durability is 500 operations. And operating temperature range is -55 to +125 degC.

Commenting product manager, Graham Cunningham said “Datamate is known for its ability to resist shock and vibration and is ideally suited to safety critical applications where high reliability is a necessity such as robotics, commercial & military aerospace, military vehicles, rail & transportation, medical, and oil & gas industries. The new extra-small bore contact will be especially suitable for weight-constrained avionics applications such as UAVs, and size restricted designs such as medical instrumentation.”
