Haptics company, Ultrahaptics, appoints Hans Carper as director of sales, EMEA

Ultrahaptics, the touchless haptics technology company, has announced the appointment of Hans Carper as director of sales, EMEA. The role will see Carper develop customer relationships in all of the company’s key markets, particularly automotive, industrial, home appliance and consumer electronics.

Speaking of his appointment, Carper said, “For me, this is the perfect time to join Ultrahaptics. Its technology is market-ready, and the EMEA region is home to many customers looking for an elegant way to create haptic feedback in gesture recognition systems. This technology will make the way we connect with our devices simple and instinctive, and the market is ready for it.”

Carper has worked in sales and business development for over two decades. Previously, he was director of European sales at Semtech and prior to that held senior positions at ARM and LSI Logic. He has also run his own company specialising in intellectual property, microprocessor and patent sales.

Ultrahaptics CEO, Steve Cliffe, added, “Hans is going to be a great asset to the team, enabling us to offer world class customer support to an ever expanding customer base in the EMEA region. Demand is high for a technology that will make gesture recognition systems responsive and more intuitive to use, so we can reap the benefits of being freed from having to physically engage with technology without impacting our ability to control devices. Hans has a wealth of experience in sales and business development and I have no doubt he will provide excellent support to our customers along every step of their Ultrahaptics partnership.”
