Engineering comes first for new Hitaltech sales recruit

When Hitaltech, the connecting technologies and enclosures experts, wanted to employ a new member of their sales team, they didn”t start their search by looking for sales skills. First, they looked for the technical background their clients expect – and they found it in 22-year-old, Jack Walker.

Jack has joined the company as a sales engineer after graduating as an electrical and electronics engineer from Loughborough University. His final year project was on wearable technology.

Originally from Southport, Jack spent five years in Dubai with his family before taking GCSEs and A levels at Kirkham Grammar. Initially, Jack will work in internal sales before developing the business in the south and east of England.

“Jack’s got a technical qualification and a real understanding of the application of our products,” explains Andy Fitzer, Hitaltech’s managing director. “He actually used our products in various projects and has a good understanding of their technical nature and application.

“We’re experts in connecting technologies, and we don’t merely sell products – we solve production issues. That’s why it’s so important for us to employ sales engineers with a technical background. Our people have a passion for what they do and know their subject inside out, and Jack’s knowledge and enthusiasm have proved a natural fit.”
