CONEC reduces lead times for D-sub connectors

The D-sub connector’s rugged design protects against mechanical impacts and vibration during installation and operation.

The one-piece, solid-body D-sub connectors are suitable for standard and high-performance applications including industrial machinery, medical equipment, test and measurement equipment and communications equipment.

“We have significantly reduced our lead times to less than six weeks for the solid-body D-sub connectors because of our advanced modular connector designs.  Others in the industry saw the D-sub connector as an older technology that couldn’t be improved upon, however we saw the opportunity to make a more reliable device with a shorter lead time,” said Jim Lieb, vice president, sales, at CONEC. “Because of the reduced number of components, the solid-body D-sub provides a more rugged, more reliable connection, particularly for industrial, outdoor or harsh environment applications.”

CONEC ensures high performance with gold-plated machined contacts. The connector is available in standard, high-density and combination D-sub configurations, and with solder-cup, right-angle and straight terminations.

The solid-body, nickel-plated, zinc diecast housing conforms to current solder requirements for RoHS-compliant solder temperatures. The entire product range is UL Listed, rated to IP67 and can be mated to standard shell sizes 1 through 5 in D-sub standard, D-sub high density and mixed-layout configurations.

The IP67-rated D-sub connectors ensure a continuously secure connection, are dustproof, and protect against temporary submersion in water.
