Chemigraphic brings Les Browne on board in business development role

Leading electronics manufacturer Chemigraphic has recruited Les Browne as its new in-field business development manager. Browne, who has worked in the EMS sector for four decades, started out as an apprentice in defence and aerospace, working in ‘hands on’ production roles before turning to the commercial side of the industry 25 years ago. He has held a number of sales and management roles in sectors including defence, medical-implant and general manufacturing, specialising in the high reliability product market.

Browne’s role at Chemigraphic will see him visiting prospective customers in a business development capacity, working to support the company’s ambitious growth strategy by seeking out new opportunities in global markets and emerging sectors.

Les is also an experienced export compliance officer and worked with industry affiliate techUK and the UK government to successfully drive changes in export legislation for military Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and components. After the work was implemented in 2017, Les undertook television interviews with BBC South, in which he discussed issues surrounding UK manufacturing, export and Brexit.

Chris Wooton, CEO of Chemigraphic, adds: “Someone with Les’ experience and background is a hugely valuable addition to our team. The breadth of his knowledge, understanding of the industry and history of working both on the customer side and commercially, make him an ideal ambassador for our brand as we look to grow our influence within the global electronics market.”

Les Browne comments: “The electronics industry is constantly expanding and evolving, and with over 40 years in the business I’ve seen huge change and development. You have to be fast, flexible and committed to thrive in this field and since joining, I’ve been blown away by the attention to detail, investment and quality of care Chemigraphic delivers to its clients.”

Crawley-based Chemigraphic, a major player in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) sector, builds complex products for a wide range of specialist UK and Global technology brands, from conception to production, supporting them at every stage of their product lifecycle.
