Bluetooth Smart innovator CSR has unveiled the world’s thinnest wireless touch interface in order to demonstrate the revolutionary potential of the technology for computing interfaces. The flexible device, which is less than 0.5 mm thick, is able to turn any area into a touch surface. Combining CSR’s low-power wireless technology with the latest in printable, flexible electronics and touch screen sensing, the device can be used to extend the touch interface of tablets and smartphones.

Peregrine Semiconductor has unveiled a single-pole, single throw (SPST) antenna tuning switch for LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) smartphones. This latest addition to Peregrine’s series of tuning devices leverages Peregrine’s UltraCMOS process using the HaRP and DuNE enhancements to deliver improved performance and integration to 4G wireless platforms.

Nujira Ltd, a leader in Envelope Tracking (ET) technology, has successfully demonstrated in its latest lab tests that it is able to support 40 MHz channel bandwidths for 4G LTE-Advanced signals, using its NCT-L1300 ET modulator IC and a commercially available handset RF Power Amplifier. Enabled by Nujira’s ET technology, it is the first time that an ET system has delivered 40 MHz bandwidth, while meeting stringent regulatory compliance standards.

Vishay Intertechnology has broadened its optoelectronics portfolio with the introduction of a new high-power, high-speed 940 nm infrared emitter for gesture remote control applications. Offering high radiant power of 40 mW at 100 mA, the VSLB9530S is offered in a clear molded, leaded TELUX package with an oval lens designed to support an angle of half intensity of ± 18° in the vertical direction and ± 36° in the horizontal direction.

Peregrine Semiconductor is making available the PE42720 75-Ohm RF switch for broadband cable systems. Manufactured on Peregrine’s UltraCMOS technology, the HaRP-enhanced single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switch features high linearity, leading isolation performance and excellent video feedthrough making it suitable for supporting higher data rates.

Aeroflex has introduced the 3920B Digital Radio Test Set for Analogue AM and FM, Digital P25, P25 Phase II, DMR, NXDN, dPMR, TETRA and TEDS technologies. The 3920B features a new low phase noise RF signal generator and is the direct replacement for all versions of the Aeroflex 3900 Series, including the 3901, the 3902, and the 3920.

Microsemi Corporation has launched a new highest density family of single-chip timing card devices with support for both Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) and IEEE 1588-2008 packet networks including 4G and LTE applications. The highly integrated ZL30361, ZL30362 and ZL30363 provide all of the key elements required for wireless network synchronization including support for phase and frequency. These devices are currently available and are being designed into wireless backhaul products where phase synchronization performance is crucial.

S.E.A. Datentechnik, a National Instruments Alliance Partner, has launched a series of mobile communication modules that have been designed specifically for the NI CompactRIO platform and are equipped with the new Zynq-based NI cRIO-9068 controller. The SEA 9751 and SEA 9754 modules enable users developing monitoring and measurement systems based on CompactRIO to access the entire application remotely.
