Link Microtek is now making available a compact RF power amplifier that utilises high-power LDMOS technology to deliver an output of 1kW from an air-cooled 19in. chassis only 5U in height, providing a significant reduction in both size and weight compared with alternative products.

M/A-COM Technology Solutions (MACOM), a supplier of high performance RF, microwave, and millimeter wave products, has announced an IP licensing program for Gallium Nitride (GaN) on Silicon technology. MACOM detailed recent progress in two areas critical to realising its future vision of enabling the mainstream adoption of GaN as a large-scale RF semiconductor technology across the industry and as a first step, MACOM has announced a license and epitaxial (epi) wafer supply agreement which will enable IQE, a leading supplier of compound semiconductor epi, to manufacture GaN-on-Silicon epi at 4, 6 and 8-inch diameters in high volume for RF applications.

EMISENS has announced that an enhanced version of its liquid identification system – EMILI TS – has achieved the ECAC (European Civil Aviation Conference) Performance Standard 2 industry benchmark for liquid explosive detection systems. Testing was carried out by an independent laboratory under ECAC’s common evaluation process.

New from IQD, the IQCM-100 GPS advanced OCXO module has been designed for use in LTE and 4G base stations and is able to achieve a holdover specification of 1.5 microseconds over a period of 24 hours when locked to a 1PPS (Pulse Per Second) input from an external GPS receiver, and so meets industry standard holdover requirements.

NXP Semiconductors has developed a ‘revolutionary’ new Qi wireless charging transmitter device, which integrates all the circuits for a 5V mobile phone charger in an extremely small package measuring only 5-mm square. Using the NXP solution, fewer than 10 external components are needed to build a complete low-power 5V Qi A5/A11 wireless charging transmitter, alongside the Qi coil and resonant capacitors.
