Lincoln-based manufacturer VxI Power has added a compact new 40W model to its Oracle family of battery-backed switch-mode power supplies, which are used in a wide variety of mission-critical applications. Suitable for systems where the available space is restricted, the Oracle III-40 measures just 100 x 100 x 45mm. Despite its size it is equipped with all the advanced communications and control features of larger models in the range.

International Rectifier has made a number of enhancements to its Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) selection tool that enables design optimisation in a wide range of applications including motor drives, uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), solar inverters, and welding.

Advanced Power Electronics Corp. (USA), a Taiwanese manufacturer of MOS power semiconductors for DC-DC power conversion applications, has launched a new series of power MOSFETs in the TO-92 through-hole package which is widely used in commercial and industrial applications where PCB space is limited.

HiTek Power has introduced its third family of power supply modules designed specifically for the Mass Spectrometry market, the Series MSP, a range of high stability, unipolar source power supply modules for use in precision applications. The supplies offer 10W output power at voltages between 1kV and 15kV depending on model, low ripple and provide highly reliable and consistent operation over long working periods.

Murata Power Solutions has announced the RBQ series of isolated 12Vout, 400 Watt DC-DC converters. The RBQ-12/33-D48 model provides what are believed to be the industry’s highest efficiencies of up to 96% from a standard DOSA-compliant quarter-brick package. The RBQ-12/33-D48 is designed to operate in most applications with convection cooling.

Vicor has introduced a new conduction-cooled version of its highly efficient Westcor MicroPAC power factor corrected AC-DC power system, enabling system designers to forego fan and forced-air cooling in power systems designed for demanding military, industrial, telecommunications and other applications requiring fanless and/or noiseless operation in restrictive enclosures.

Microchip has launched the MCP1755 and MCP1755S high-performance, high-input-voltage and high-output-current family of CMOS Low-Dropout (LDO) voltage regulators. These LDOs can accept a wide input voltage range of 3.6-16V and deliver an output current of 300 mA at output voltages of 1.8-5.5V, while consuming only 68 µA of quiescent current (typical).

Linear Technology has unveiled the LTC3300-1, a high efficiency bidirectional multicell battery balancer for equalizing cell state of charge (SoC) in a series-connected battery stack. Applications such as electric vehicles (EVs), plug-in hybrid EVs and large energy storage systems using cells with mismatched capacities are no longer limited by the lowest capacity cell in the stack.

CUI Inc has unveiled a new family of compact ac-dc power supplies featuring baseplate-cooling. The VBM-360 series offers high power density of 14.8 W/in3, providing 355 W in an industry standard footprint. The space-saving power supplies are housed in two optional case styles: a compact open frame version measuring 5 x 3 x 1.6 inches (127.00 x 76.00 x 40.60 mm) and an enclosed version.

NXP Semiconductors has introduced 54 new automotive-qualified MOSFETs in an LFPAK56 package – the largest portfolio of Power-SO8 MOSFETs currently available on the market. Delivering both performance and reliability, NXP’s LFPAK56 MOSFETs also save more than 55 percent of the footprint area compared to DPAK, significantly reducing overall costs. The LFPAK56 MOSFETs are suitable for a wide range of automotive applications, particularly in the areas of powertrain; body and security; and chassis and safety.
