TDK Corporation has added a 24Vdc input series to its TDK-Lambda CN-A family of railway DC-DC power modules. The CN50A24 is a robust, baseplate-cooled, quarter-brick 50W module and is compliant with all applicable railway standards for both rolling stock and fixed installations, and its high-reliability design affords a long warranty period of 5 years.

ams AG has released a reference design implementing a complete automotive Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) based on its accurate AS8515 data acquisition front end. Vishay Intertechnology has released a new n-channel TrenchFET power MOSFET in the thermally enhanced PowerPAK SO-8 package that extends the company"s ThunderFET technology to 150 V. The Siliconix SiR872ADP now offers low on-resistance of 18 mO at 10 V and 23 mO at 7.5 V while maintaining low gate charge of 31 nC typical at 10 V and 22.8 nC typical at 7.5 V.

New from Linear Technology the LT3954 is a DC/DC converter that has been designed to operate as a constant-current source and constant-voltage regulator with an internal 5A switch. The device’s internal PWM dimming generator makes it suitable for driving high current LEDs, and it also has features suitable for charging batteries and supercapacitors.

Intersil Corporation has introduced a new active power factor controller that delivers minimal harmonic distortion (THD) and high power factor (PF) correction. The ISL6730A features a patent-pending breakthrough in negative capacitance technology which reduces EMI filter size, improves THD and PF and provides maximum efficiency over a wide input supply range and output power (input voltages from 85VAC to 270VAC and power range from 50W to 2kW).
