The new XC9248 series from Torex is a synchronous step-down (buck) DC/DC converter with two integrated N-ch driver Transistors and bootstrap configuration. The input voltage range is 4.5V to 18V and the maximum output current is 2.2A. Using the internal 0.8V reference voltage, the output voltage can be set using two external resistors within a range of 1.0V to 12V.

AMD has launched a new low-power Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) in the AMD G-Series SOC family with the GX-210JA, looking to reduce x86 power requirements further for embedded designs. The GX-210JA APU, a full System-on-Chip (SoC) design, uses one-third less energy than the previous low-power Embedded G-Series SOC product while providing improved graphics capabilities.

Linear Technology has launched the LTC5510, a high performance mixer with very wide frequency range, extending to 6GHz. It provides a continuous 50ohm matched input from 30MHz to 6GHz, while delivering linearity and gain flatness. These features enable applications to work over a wider frequency span without needing to rematch the input for different frequency bands, thereby reducing cost and simplifying design.

Phihong has developed a new power injector that provides a full 75W output and operates with 4-pair detection systems using 25K signature resistance. Designated the POE75U-1UP-PD-R, the gigabit compatible single-port midspan has an Ultra PoE rated output of 75W at 56V and is ideal for high-powered applications, including 802.11n wireless radios, LCD displays, kiosks and security equipment.
