Sharp’s new tuneable white, mid-power SMD-based LED for SSL lighting applications comprises two different correlated colour temperature (CCT) emitters that together produce light output that can be steplessly "tuned" over the range of 2700–6500K. Linear Technology’s new LTC3637 device is a 76V input-capable high efficiency buck converter that delivers up to 1A of continuous output current. It operates from an input voltage range of 4V to 76V, making it suitable for telecom, industrial, avionic and automotive applications. It uses a programmable peak current-mode design to optimise efficiency over a broad range of output currents and delivers efficiencies as high as 90% and requires only 12µA of quiescent current, maximizing battery run time.

Samsung Electronics has begun mass producing a value-added line-up of highly efficient lens-attached LED modules (LAMs), for use in office LED lighting applications that include linear and line lighting, cove lighting and troffers. The LAM series is created by attaching lenses on top of the LED packages in each module. The lenses add wide beam angles for their light sources using advanced optic technology, so that each LED package can brighten a space larger than that of conventional packages.

The APE8937-HF-3 load switch contains one N-channel MOSFET that can operate over a wide input voltage range from 0.8V to 5.5V and support a maximum continuous current of up to 4A.
