Texas Instruments (TI) has unveiled the industry’s first seven-channel, NMOS low-side driver, replacing standard Darlington transistor arrays with a power-efficient, drop-in compatible integrated circuit (IC). The TPL7407L replaces half of the transistor arrays required to drive high current loads, providing a new option for high voltage systems that previously required a number of transistor arrays or a motor driver.

Conrad Business Supplies has strengthened its portfolio of cable and wire technologies by signing a European distribution agreement with established cable expert Faber Kabel. Diodes Incorporated has released the PAM2401, a low voltage 1MHz step-up DC-DC converter designed to meet the heightened efficiency demands of portable products including battery backups, cordless phones and GPS receivers. Maintaining an operational efficiency as high as 95%, this synchronous converter provides true output disconnect to prevent leakage and ensures safe start-up at an input as low as 1V.

The latest EL97xx series of electronic loads available from INTEPRO SYSTEMS offers users a simple means to test or characterise individual battery cells or multi-cell stacks. Models are available with power ratings from 150 to 6,000W for use as simple front panel controlled bench test or repair instruments to components in complex, automated test and burn-in systems.
