HUBER+SUHNER has made a key addition to its industry-leading RADOX cable family with the introduction of a new fibre optic cable that has been designed to provide users across many industries with secure data transmission in a variety of hazardous environments and conditions.

Cliff Electronics is now able to offer a wide range of optical jack sockets suitable for high quality audio systems, IT and medical equipment and other high bandwidth signal connections. Optical jacks are virtually unaffected by electrical noise when transmitting and receiving digital signals and are rapidly becoming a standard feature of IT systems and high quality audio equipment including portable products.

Molex Incorporated has introduced metric sizes to its seamless-barrel insulated Avikrimp and un-insulated VersaKrimp ring terminals, which enable universal use with metric-size studs and screws up to 10mm in diameter and wire sizes up to 6mm2. Thes eterminals are suitable for terminating to metric screws or threaded posts and can be used in solderless wiring applications in the industrial, automotive and consumer industries.

The new P762/G from Peak Test Services is a test probe specifically designed for applications requiring high-current contacting with flat blade connectors. The new probe overcomes the difficulties previously encountered in contacting flat blade connectors with high currents, which result from the fact that the front face does not provide enough contact surface area.

C&K Components has developed a new SMT side actuated switch series that increases operating life while reducing the footprint. The microminiature PTS 840 Series switch is available with front PIP leads that deliver strong shear resistance and higher reliability than other technologies.

TE Connectivity (TE) has launched a new side entry Tinel-Lock ring. The ring is a heat recoverable metal braid terminator, which provides a method of joining a gross cable or harness shield to a customer-built connector backshell or other termination device without pre-positioning the ring on the harness. The uniform recovery force generated by this shape-memory ring gives the termination enhanced mechanical and electrical properties, resulting in a significantly improved performance.

The new Han HMC industrial connector series from Harting has been designed toprovide for more than 10,000 mating cycles while at the same time offering protection against harsh environmental conditions. The new connector is designed for use in applications - in the medical, laboratory and test engineering sectors, for example - where equipment may be employed in different locations and can often be connected and disconnected several times a day.

Molex Incorporated has launched a new application (app) that gives tablet users immediate access to information on over 90 different Molex product families. Designed for Apple and Android devices, the Molex App allows tablet users to view product information, search products, view literature and view videos without being online. App users with access to an internet connection will be able to link to the Molex website for detailed part number information.

Designed as an alternative to the D-subminiature connector, Souriau’s new microComp Quicklatch is a 100% composite miniature quick connector suitable for use on in-flight entertainment (IFE) screens aboard commercial aircraft. It is 32% smaller and 45% lighter than a D-sub and can save as much as the equivalent of the weight of one passenger on modern civil aircraft.
