C&K Components, a supplier of tact switches, toggle and rocker switches, and smart card interconnect devices, has developed a series of low-profile, cost-effective miniature slide switches. Designated the JS Slide Series, the switches are intended for applications with limited PC board space and height restrictions, including mobile telecommunications, computer peripherals, instrumentation and remote-control equipment.

Polymicro Technologies, a subsidiary of Molex Incorporated, has unveiled a number of improvements to its FDP optical fibre. The latest enhancements improve solarisation of the fibre in deep UV (ultra-violet) applications (190 – 325 nm).

W.L. Gore & Associates has introduced a new low-profile right-angle connector (ZQA) that features a non-bifurcated swept contact design for use with low-loss microwave coaxial cable qualified for 32 GHz spaceflight applications.

HARTING has introduced a module clamp for use with the company’s Han-Modular industrial connector system. The new unit allows single modules to be assembled in a fully pluggable implementation in an IP 20 environment in a simple, inexpensive and space-saving manner.

Harting has introduced a new outdoor version of its Han-Yellock industrial connector system featuring specially selected materials and a surface structure designed to withstand salt mist and industrial exhaust gases as well as ultraviolet radiation.

AVX Corporation has introduced a new one-piece, top-entry, vertical card edge connector for use in a broad range of industrial applications. Available with two to six positions, this latest addition to AVX’s expanding 00-9159 card edge connector series is the first single-piece, low pin count, top-entry, vertical card edge connector available for the industrial marketplace.

Aerco has been appointed as the sole UK strategic distributor for Hypertac, a brand of Smiths Connectors, and has increased its commitment to the assembly of Hypertac products. Aerco assembles a wide range of rectangular, PCB mount connectors, notably the popular range of two-part, PCB connectors in two and three row formats that comply with BS9525-N0001 and BS9525-F0016 as well as MIL-C-55302/159 to 164.

Polymicro Technologies, a subsidiary of Molex Incorporated, has extended its Specialty Optical Fibre offering with the introduction of FBPI optical fibre and Hollow Silica Wavelength fibre products which has been optimised for near infrared (NIR) attenuation and ultraviolet (UV) solarisation resistance to improve transmission over a wider spectral range. The silica-based FBPI optical fibre is also able to deliver industry-first panoramic spectroscopy and sensor analysis.

Molex Incorporated has further expanded its Stac64 product family with the introduction of the 14-circuit hybrid connection system. The 14-circuit Stac64 hybrid system comprises a 14-circuit hybrid receptacle connector and mating 14-circuit vertical and right-angle headers to meet the increasing terminal requirements for expanding in-vehicle functionality in automotive and commercial vehicles.

TTI, a specialist distributor of passive, connector, electromechanical and discrete components, has significantly increased both the scale and scope of its European connector assembly service. First opened in 2010 to service the European defence and hi-rel markets, the facility - based at the distributor’s European Distribution Centre in Gerlinden, near Munich, Germany - has more than doubled in size and can now produce seven different connector styles and their many variants, with new ranges planned for later this year.
