Mouser Electronics has unveiled a number of enhancements to its technology site on Mouser.com covering radio frequency (RF) Wireless Technology which has been expanded to feature the leading drop-in RF solutions. The new RF Wireless Technology site"s enhanced Solutions spotlight looks to help design engineers choose from the latest integrated solutions and drop-in modules with pre-certified radios that instantly add wireless capabilities to existing applications.

Silica, an Avnet company, and Philips Lumileds have announced they have signed a distribution agreement which comes into effect immediately. Under the terms of the agreement, SILICA will support sales, marketing and support activities for Philips Lumileds full line of LED products in Europe.

Avnet Memec, an Avnet company, has been appointed as pan-European distributor for Telegesis UK Limited, a leading supplier of ZigBee radio module technology. The new agreement takes effect immediately, and will make Avnet Memec a key distribution partner for the entire line of Telegesis ZigBee radio products.

Alpha Micro Components, the Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications specialist, has signed a distribution agreement with Laird Technologies, a designer and manufacturer of customised, performance-critical components for wireless systems and other advanced electronics applications.

Barco has signed an agreement with pan-European technical distributor Acal BFi, a division of Acal, as a specialist distributor of Barco’s rugged displays for the UK and Benelux, in Security, Defence, Oil & Gas, Maritime and Mining, offering a broad range of design-in and support services. The arrangement represents the first significant technical partnering program in Europe for Barco’s rugged displays.

Manufacturers’ representative and distributor of components and sub-assemblies for professional video and high-speed communications systems, L2TEK, has announced a UK representation and distribution deal with Valens Semiconductor, a provider of semiconductor products for the distribution of uncompressed HD multimedia content and inventor of HDBaseT technology.

Intersil Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of high-performance analogue, mixed signal and power management semiconductors, has selected Future Electronics as its strategic global distribution partner to help expand and bring greater focus to its existing distribution network. Intersil said that it had selected the distributor because of it sales expertise and application engineering resources to drive demand creation efforts.

Rutronik is now stocking a new 160V ultracapacitor module from Maxwell Technologies that is able to provide energy storage and power delivery for wind turbine pitch control, UPS and renewable energy systems. Primarily targeted at pitch control systems for 1.5 to 3MW wind turbines, the turnkey solution simplifies the installation process and reduces costs.

Rutronik is now offering its customers the opportunity to manage their consignment warehouses via smartphone. The smartCONSI app enables customers to better manage their consignment warehouses and do so more easily with the aid of a smartphone. Using the smartCONSI app from Rutronik, they can scan the labels of goods which they remove from the warehouse. It is also possible for several smartphones to be used simultaneously.
