Cadence Design Systems has, by leveraging its experience in the Flash IP market, expanded its Flash IP offering to include support for the Open NAND Flash Interface (ONFI) 3.0 specification. This makes Cadence is the first company to provide a combined ONFI 3 controller and PHY IP solution, streamlining SoC and system design while ensuring an optimised ONFI 3 implementation for maximum performance.

The BVM Group has introduced the TANK-700, a rugged fanless embedded system that combines performance with low power consumption, advanced LAN and WAN communications and high bandwidth peripheral interfaces. Based on the QM67 chipset, the system supports the Sandy Bridge second-generation mobile Core i7/i5/i3 processors with integrated GPU at up to 2.8GHz or the mobile Celeron processor at 1.9GHz, both in the PPGA-988 socket.

KEMET has introduced ArcShield capacitor technology for use in high voltage applications that tend to be susceptible to surface arcing (arc-over discharge). Surface arcing is generally caused by a high voltage gradient between the MLCC’s termination surfaces or between one termination surface and the component’s internal electrode structure. This phenomenon can either damage surrounding components or lead to a breakdown of the MLCC’s dielectric material.

LeCroy Corporation has unveiled new high bandwidth (36 GHz) and sample rate (80 GS/s) silicon technologies in the LabMaster 10 Zi oscilloscopes. This advanced new chipset when combined with LeCroy’s Digital Bandwidth Interleave (DBI) and LabMaster ChannelSync architecture provides five times more channels, more silicon-based bandwidth, nearly double the silicon-based bandwidth using DBI, and pricing comparable to oscilloscopes with far less capability.
