In a move designed to encourage innovation and to support the market, Zytronic has introduced the first in a series of new software drivers for use with its range of Projected Capacitive Technology (PCT) touch sensors and touch controller products. As a result the company will now be able to offer a more comprehensive platform on which touchscreen systems with high performance, heavy duty operation, strong accuracy levels and exciting feature sets can be built from the ground up.

Microlease has become the first test equipment specialist to offer the newly-released Anritsu MW8209A PIM Master as a rental option. The MW8209A passive intermodulation (PIM) analyser covers the 900 MHz band and is designed to address the growing requirement for the measurement of PIM in E-GSM networks, including UMTS Band VIII and LTE Band 8.

Tektronix is to make available an automated test solution for the latest Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) Compliance Test Specification (CTS) 1.2 covering transmitter, receiver and dongle testing for both physical (PHY) and protocol layers.  This one box solution features  PHY and protocol testing for easier and faster debug and analysis and compliance testing, as used by MHL Authorized Test Centers (ATC) or anyone wanting to develop compliant MHL solutions.

Kontron has announced that it will be supporting the upcoming 3rd Generation Intel Core processors. The first Kontron platforms to feature the 3rd Generation Intel Core processors will be a COM Express basic Computer-on-Module, a Flex-ATX embedded motherboard, 3U and 6U CompactPCI processor boards, a processor AMC and a 3U VPX processor board. Further board and system level platforms will follow in 2012.

ARM has released the latest edition of the ARM Development Studio 5 (DS-5 v5.9) toolchain with additional support for graphics analysis on ARM Mali Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).  The toolchain can be downloaded, enabling engineers to achieve integrated optimisation across the whole system, including both the applications processor and GPU.

Murata has announced the expansion of its PKLCS family with two new 2.4 kHz SMD piezoelectric sounders aimed at white goods, portable, industrial, and automotive applications. Both the consumer part PKLCS1212E2400-R1 and the automotive/industrial part PKLCS1212E24A0-R1 are available in low profile surface mount packages.
