A new series of high-precision thin film SMD wraparound chip resistor arrays from Vishay Intertechnology have been optimised for high-temperature down-hole and aeronautics applications. The new PRAHT four-resistor networks feature an operating temperature range from – 55 °C to + 215 °C with a maximum storage temperature up to + 230 °C, an industry-first for any resistor array built on thin film technology.

AVX Corporation has developed a series of multilayer organic RF inductors in a 0402 case size. Providing High Q and high self-resonance, the RoHS-compliant device features an inductance range of 1nH to 32nH.

Anritsu has introduced a burst detection enhancement for its MS272xC Spectrum Master handheld spectrum analyzer making it easier for field engineers and technicians to find narrow signals that may cause interference and affect the performance of wireless networks. The Burst Detect mode extends the performance of the MS272xC Spectrum Master analyzers, which include the first 32 GHz and 43 GHz models, giving users a powerful test tool for their field requirements.

ARM and Synopsys have signed a multi-year agreement that expands Synopsys’ access to a broad range of ARM intellectual property (IP). The two companies will broaden their collaboration to enable SoC designers to optimise the power and performance of ARM technology based SoCs using Synopsys’ Galaxy Implementation Platform and Discovery VIP, while looking to reduce both cost and time to market.

AVX Corporation, a manufacturer of passive components and interconnect solutions, has expanded its SkyCap SR Series to include a multilayer ceramic capacitor rated at 10µF/50V in an X7R dielectric (±15% from -55° to +125°C). Designated the SR655C106KAR, the new SkyCap capacitor features a formed lead for stable placement on the printed circuit board.

Cypress Semiconductor has introduced the PSoC Creator 2.1, the Integrated Design Environment (IDE) for the PSoC 3 and PSoC 5 programmable system-on-chip families. The new software update includes over 100 new features and enhancements, which will help to accelerate digital designs, simplify analogue designs, and greatly improve ease of use.

GOEPEL electronic, in cooperation with selected partners of the GATE alliance program, has developed a comprehensive Application Programming Interface (API) for the company’s hardware platform SCANFLEX. The API provides third-parties with direct access to, and control of, the entire SCANFLEX hardware down to bit level from their respective software systems. As a result, users will be able to define synchronised interactions with other processes and modules as well as control non-JTAG protocols and hardware.

Teseq, a developer and provider of instrumentation and systems for EMC emission and immunity testing, has introduced two new Reverberation Chambers, models RVC XS and 2XS, further expanding its chamber portfolio. Reverberation chambers (RVCs) are modern EMC test environments that provide an alternative to semi- or full anechoic rooms (SAR/FAR), open area test sites (OATS) or Gigahertz Transverse Electromagnetic (GTEM) cells.

Morgan Technical Ceramics has introduced a new dual wideband piezo composite frequency transducer for a range of marine applications including depth sounding, fish finding or guidance and Doppler speed metering. A key advantage of the new 09222/000 transducer is that it offers wideband dual frequency operation through the same slot.
