EU-funded SYNAPTIC project delivers design-synthesis tool flow

A joint industry/academia consortium, supported by the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme, has reported the successful conclusion of a three-year project and the release of its design-synthesis tool flow and related litho-friendly cell libraries and evaluation metrics. The SYNAPTIC research project includes eight partner organisations from across Europe and Brazil who have worked together to develop regularity-centric design methods and Electronics Design Automation (EDA) tools.

Yokogawa extends range of variable-wavelength modules for optical test system

Yokogawa has extended the range of plug-in modules for use with its AQ2200 Series multi-application optical test system by introducing two new tunable light source modules that allow the test wavelength to be varied to suit the user’s application. The new AQ2200-131 (one channel) and AQ2200-132 (two channels) allow the user to tune the test wavelength to one of the preset DWDM (dense waveform division multiplexing) grid wavelengths.

New MLCC series features near-pure silver electrodes for high conductivity

AVX has introduced a new series of microwave MLCCs with near-pure silver (Ag) electrodes, which both enhance performance and reduce costs. Providing higher conductivity than competing non-precious metal RF capacitors, the new UQ Series MLCCs feature ultra-low ESR, high Q, high self-resonance, and a capacitance range spanning 0.1pF to 1000pF. Applications for the UQ Series include RF power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, filter networks, and MRI systems.

GrammaTech unveils enhancements to CodeSonar visualisation

GrammaTech, a manufacturer of software-analysis tools, has unveiled a number of new enhancements to CodeSonar’s software architecture visualisation features. The newest features include a treemap view designed to allow users to see the hierarchical structure of the code in a very information-dense form. New low phase noise TCXO from IQD

IQD’s new IQXT-60 series Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) is able to offer improved phase noise performance in a miniature low height package. With typical phase noise figures of -63dBc/Hz at 10Hz and -161dBc/Hz at 100kHz coupled with a low current consumption of around 5.0mA, the new model provides greater versatility.
