Murata have commercialised the world"s first 0402-size (1005-size metric 1.0 x 0.5mm) 1µF monolithic ceramic capacitor with a guaranteed operating temperature of 105°C (X6S) and a rated voltage of 25 V. In addition, Murata has also commercialized the world"s first 0805-size (2012-size metric 2.0 x 1.25mm) 4.7µF monolithic ceramic capacitor with a guaranteed operating temperature of 125°C (X7S) and a rated voltage of 50 V.

Cadence Design Systems has announced that several of its system-on-chip development tools have achieved version 0.1 of design rule manual (DRM) and SPICE model tool certification for TSMC’s 16-nanometer FinFET process. The completion of the early stage tool certification milestone means that advanced node customers can now start developing designs and leveraging the lower power and higher performance benefits required for next-generation mobile platforms.

Silicon Labs has introduced a new family of crystal oscillators (XOs) that look to provide ultra-low jitter reference timing for 10G, 40G and 100G cloud computing and networking equipment. These new Si535 and Si536 XOs leverage Silicon Labs’ DSPLL technology to provide improved levels of performance, stability and flexibility for 10/40G data centre core/access switches, storage area networking equipment, security routers, enterprise switches/routers, and Carrier Ethernet switches and routers.

KEMET, a manufacturer of tantalum, ceramic, aluminium, film, paper and electrolytic capacitors, has released three new series of tantalum chip capacitors: T488 Small Case Substrate Terminal MnO2, T527 Facedown Polymer, and T529 Small Case Substrate Terminal Polymer.

Teseq, a developer of instrumentation and systems for EMC emission and immunity testing, has expanded its broadband amplifier line to include a Class A linear and low distortion model that operates from 10 kHz to 400 MHz with a rated power level of 260 watts. For use in commercial or in-house EMC test laboratories, the CBA 400M-260 is suited for automotive, military and aerospace BCI (bulk current injections) applications that require testing at higher levels and has a three year parts and labour warranty.

KEMET, a manufacturer of tantalum, ceramic, aluminum, film, paper and electrolytic capacitors, has released a new Radial Through Hole Ceramic Safety Disc Capacitor targeting markets that include alternative energy, industrial/lighting, medical, and telecommunications. The Safety Discs Capacitors complement KEMET’s ERO610, ERK610, ERP610, KJY, KJN series, and FILM EMI suppression capacitors.

In a move designed to speed up the development of complex ICs, Cadence Design Systems has introduced the Tempus Timing Signoff Solution, a new static timing analysis and closure tool designed to enable System-on-Chip (SoC) developers to speed timing closure and move chip designs to fabrication quickly. The solution represents a new approach to timing signoff tools that enables customers to shrink timing signoff closure and analysis for faster tapeout while producing designs with less pessimism, area and power consumption.

Geotest-Marvin Test Systems has added two new PXI chassis to its product line - the GX7200, a 21-slot PXI Express chassis and the GX7800, an 8-slot, low cost PXI chassis. The GX7200 features the most slots in the industry and requires only a single slot for the controller, providing 20-slots for supporting PXI-1, PXI-hybrid, and PXIe modules.

A number of new enhancements have been introduced to the Yokogawa DLM4000 Series of 8-channel mixed-signal oscilloscopes among them a L16 option, which adds 16 extra channels of logic, plus upgraded firmware for power measurements and serial-bus testing.
