Avnet Abacus, a leading European interconnect, passive, electro-mechanical and power distributor, and a business unit of Avnet Electronics Marketing EMEA, has signed a pan-European distribution agreement with Fischer Elektronik under which Avnet Abacus will represent Fischer Elektronik, a specialist in the design and manufacture of thermal management solutions, enclosures and connectors, as an authorised reseller and will supply customers throughout Europe with a broad array of components from the Fischer product portfolio.
Avnet Abacus has a widespread presence across Europe with over 40 offices in 18 different countries and so is well placed to access the extensive customer base in the region, providing technical expertise in the local language.
An important focus of the deal will be Fischer’s range of thermal management products, which are designed to provide effective thermal cooling of a wide range of assemblies and semiconductor components, including those intended for the fast-growing LED market.
Commenting Detlef Hardt, business manager at Fischer Elektronik said “This partnership will substantially increase our prospects for business growth and to this end we anticipate successful collaborative work with their specialist product teams across the region.”
In response Hagen Goetze, Marketing Manager IP&E at Avnet Abacus, commented, “This agreement with Fischer Elektronik is an important addition to our supplier portfolio and will significantly enhance our thermal management offering to customers. We see particularly strong opportunities for their thermal management products in a myriad of emerging lighting applications, as well as supporting our growing business in the transportation and industrial equipment markets.”
