Anglia Components today announced that it has extended its successful relationship with Intersil to distribute Renesas’ advanced embedded semiconductor solutions in the UK and Ireland. The announcement follows the acquisition of Intersil by Renesas Electronics Corporation in February.

Achim Mescher, sales director for distribution at Renesas Electronics Europe GmbH explained: “One of our first steps as we integrated the Intersil business into Renesas was to review its channels to market. It was evident that Anglia’s deep technical expertise and outstanding logistical service has been a factor in expanding Intersil’s presence in the market in the UK and Ireland. It therefore made complete sense to not only continue this partnership, but also to expand it to cover Renesas semiconductor solutions.”

John Bowman, Anglia marketing director, commented: “We have enjoyed a close and successful relationship with Intersil and are delighted that this can continue and be expanded following its acquisition by Renesas. This significant expansion of our product portfolio will help strengthen our relationship with all of our customers, and reinforce us as a strategic supplier offering a broad base of solutions.”

Following the agreement, Anglia will be supporting Renesas products range including the innovative Renesas SynergyTM Platform, microcontrollers, mixed signal ICs and System on Chip devices on Anglia Live, for same day shipment from stock. Anglia will train members of its Field Application Engineering team to support Renesas devices and technologies. The Intersil range of innovative power management and precision analogue solutions is already well supported by the Anglia team and on the Anglia Live site.
