Altus helps to introduce Yamaha’s latest innovations at productronica

Altus Group will be highlighting Yamaha’s latest innovative equipment at productronica in Germany next month as they help to promote the company’s Total Line Solution.

Altus, a leading distributor of capital equipment for the electronics assembly industry in the UK and Ireland, will have their own stand for the first time at the show from 14-17 November, where they will be supporting their principles like Yamaha by providing information and advice on a range of equipment.

Yamaha Motor Europe IM Division will showcase its Total Line Solution, which delivers the latest in flexible high-accuracy, speed, and quality surface-mount assembly, together with its new Factory Tools which works on the the Industry 4.0 evolution.

The Auto Loading Feeder (ZS-ALF) will be one of the main focuses for Yamaha on their stand 323 Hall A3. The product allows the addition of a second reel to supply in the same feeder at any time during operation. The ALF design removes any need for splicing materials or operators with good splicing skills, while reducing tape waste and paper dust particles. It also reduces machine down time, increases line efficiency, and boosts placement quality.

Also top of the bill will be the S20- 3D MID (Molded Interconnect Device) machine which has been developed to help the SMT industry in the new era of advanced and innovative products built with 3D printing materials and printed electronics. S20-3D MID is built on a standard S20 mounter platform, and can dispense adhesive or solder and mount components on 3D substrates at any angle.

Richard Booth, managing director at Altus said: “The Altus ‘hub’ at productronica will be the perfect location for our customers to meet with the team and discuss specific requirements. We can then direct them straight to our principles stands, including Yamaha, where they can see the equipment first hand and how it will work in their production process.

“Yamaha has a number of innovative products being introduced at the show, including equipment that is already popular with our customers like the YSM40R mounter to visitors at the show. The product boasts a compact 1-metre wide footprint and an impressive speed of 200,000 cph. The platform has a 4-beam 4-head mounter layout offering flexible and versatile production formats.

“Since its launch Altus has seen much interest for the YSM40R and I am sure productronica will help to increase awareness further.

“Yamaha will also be presenting a dedicated software area to help visitors understand the power Yamaha Factory Tools 4.0 bring to the enterprise. This complete suite includes tools for NPI with virtual sticky tape checks, multiple grouping and efficient setup scenarios, monitoring, traceability and planning, and enables real-time status visualisation at every level of the factory.”

Many of Altus’ suppliers are exhibiting at productronica, including Koh Young (SPI & AOI); YJ Link (Board Handling & Laser Marking); Cencorp (Routers, Odd Form & Final Assembly); Rehm (Convection & Vapour Phase Reflow); Nikon (X-Ray Inspection); Yamaha (Screen Printers and Pick & Place Mounters); Kolb (Cleaning Systems & Chemistry); ATN (Automated Soldering Solutions and Entry Level Pick & Place Systems); Optilia (Full HD Camera Inspection Systems).
