Altus and Accelonix to demonstrate how SMT production and test equipment is pushing the boundaries of electronics

Altus Group, leading distributors of capital equipment for electronics assembly and Accelonix, dominant suppliers of electronic and precision manufacturing and test equipment have partnered to present an innovative technology showcase on 29th September 2016.

The all-day event, entitled CoNEXTions: SMT Production and Test Equipment for factories of the Future, will be held at the prestigious Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), located near Coventry. Altus and Accelonix will display a host of SMT assembly and test equipment that demonstrates the leading developments in innovative manufacturing, test manufacturing software and inspection equipment.

As industry trends and developments continue to focus on intuitive 3D AOI and SPI inspection equipment, Altus will present Koh Young’s Zenith full 3D AOI System, which inspects and provides quantitative measurements of components with the lowest rates of false calls and escapes in the industry.

The YJ Link ACI-10 solves the unavoidable residual percentage of PCB’s which “fail” at AOI and require further intervention, particularly after 2D AOI. Designed for Post AOI inspection, the ACI-10 takes data from the AOI and locates the suspect device in the field of view.

Using innovative Swiss engineering and pioneering solutions for the traditional THT soldering process, the Kirsten’s Wave Soldering System offers unique functions to optimise quality, longevity and consistency in wave soldering.

Accelonix will present the latest test solutions from Takaya and Teradyne. Takaya Flying Probe Tester is a fixtureless tester that enables the testing of assembled SMT boards. It is ideally suited for high board mix prototype applications as well as low and medium volume production runs. Using advanced technology, the Teradyne TSO aims to provide the highest possible fault coverage and defect detection technology with a reliable high-quality fixtured system and modular approach to ICT testing.

Siemens eMES, a comprehensive manufacturing execution system (MES) meets traceability requirements, controls production and optimises integration. Engineered for speed and accuracy, Data I/O automated programming will also be presented. The RoadRunner model provides optimum flexibility and has been designed to meet demanding industry requirements, reliably and securely.

“We’re excited to be teaming up with Accelonix to bring leaders in the electronics industry together at this prestigious venue to show how SMT Production and Test Equipment is evolving for tomorrow’s market,” says Richard Booth, general manager, Altus Group Ltd.

“The MTC is the perfect venue for CoNEXTions: SMT Production and Test Equipment for factories of the Future as it houses many of the latest innovative solutions for the industry. We look forward to showing these forward-thinking developments to existing and prospective customers,” says Mark Kenny, business sales manager, Accelonix Ltd.
